Exercising with Neuropathy in Feet
When a person has neuropathy in feet, their balance and their sense of their legs and feet are affected. The loss in sensation brought about by the nerve damage has a significant effect on a person’s walking and over-all movement of their legs and feet. Muscle weakness is also another effect that should be managed.

Exercising with neuropathy in feet is important because it helps people in their balance, walking and leg and foot movement. Exercising the feet, ankle and legs will help patients continue to enjoy strong muscles, good balance and normal lower extremity movement.
Simple exercises for foot neuropathy are tapping the floor, lifting of toes, lifting of heels, flexing and pointing of ankles, rotating of the knees and easy lunges. These exercises can be done as often as the patient can. It is advisable that the patient do these exercise in spaces where there is a soft flooring to prevent cutting or bruising of feet.
Exercising is one important aspect of managing neuropathy in feet. The nerve damage will take away the feet’s sensations and movement and the way to combat these is to remember to exercise the muscles and joints of feet, ankles and legs.
